The Battle for Cathy

As many of you know, this is a cause that is very close and dear to our hearts here at AdeptiCon. We salute the organizers of this fantastic raffle and encourage your participation – you can win some incredible models, while helping a very good and long-time friend of AdeptiCon. Join The Battle for Cathy today!

To say that Jim and Cathy Wappel have had an impact on the miniatures hobby community would be a vast understatement. Between the learning and fun space that is AdeptiCon’s Fort Wappel, and the classes, constructive criticism and generous friendships they have fostered, they have actively built a vibrant community around them, touching all of us in the process. Anyone who has ever visited the Hobby Area and stood before the proverbial ramparts of Fort Wappel knows that Cathy and Jim perform an annual labor of love, with the wonderful silliness of mini Cathy photobombs setting the tone.

Distressingly, Cathy recently received a serious medical diagnosis. And while she took the news with her typical brand of optimistic determination, the issues she’s dealing with are challenging. We would like to help with the financial burdens that come with those challenges, making this tough time just a little easier for someone who has given so much without ever asking for anything in return.

To that end, the Chicagoland Paint Team has put in the time and effort to beautifully hand paint two full campaign boxes donated by Grognard Games and Custom Cursed City bases from Elrik’s Hobbies.  The Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Cursed City board game and the Warcry Heart of Ghurs skirmish game. To be given away at AdeptiCon, the evening of Saturday March 25th at 12PM. Your charitable donation of $5 gets you 1 entry into the giveaway drawing, or $20 for 5 entries and $100 for 30 entries.  (Free worldwide shipping) All proceeds raised will go to the Wappels.

Attendance to AdeptiCon NOT required.
