WIP Wednesday - Terrain Edition
Happy Wednesday Y'all!
I spent the weekend painting terrain with the fine folks of the AdeptiCon Spray Team. It was a surprisingly good time where I got to watch classic movies such as Megaforce and learn to paint some terrain. If you play on an Age of Sigmar table this year, you might see some of the terrain I worked on. Every year, the Spray Team paints hundreds of pieces of terrain to make sure we have the best looking tables and that you all have lots of good terrain to play on. What are you working on this week? ... See MoreSee Less

WIP Wednesday - Why Not Start A New Army Edition
Happy Wednesday y’all! This weekend we decided we should get back into 40K. I mostly want to use those new Victrix Guard I bought and my buddy decided to start a Tau army. He also painted some British infantry for me for Warlord Epic. My other friend built some Gunpla, only thing left is some panel lining. What are you working on? Did you start a new project as well? ... See MoreSee Less

WIP Wednesday - There's snow on the ground edition
Ok so we got our first snowfall this weekend, which means it's time to stay indoors and work on models. What are you working on? In my never-ending quest to not actually finish a model, I picked up two boxes of the new Victrix Guard this week. My first army was Ultramarines right after their 4th edition codex came out, so the Tyrannic Wars were a fresh thing. The banner alone might have been enough to get me back into 40k. Going to break out the airbrush and get a basecoat on them this week. ... See MoreSee Less

WIP Wednesday
It's November, which means it's almost Christmas. Which means it's almost time to register your events! What are you looking to do this year? I continue to not be productive. I'd say it's because I'm working on a doctorate, but really I just haven't had the hobby mojo recently. My buddy has been painting up some Space Wolves. Maybe you'll see them in the 40k Friendly this year? I continue to work on ships for a space game I want to develop. There isn't a large, mass battle space combat game and I think it would be cool if there was. I spent some time last weekend working out some outlines for mechanics and now I'm getting some models ready to test it out. I guess that counts as hobbying?
I also started working on bases. I want to have a unified base across my 30k models, so if I want to do a shattered legion or some kind of combined force everything looks good. The nice part about Heresy is that everything is cool. The downside of Heresy is that everything is cool and I want to paint everything! This is a step in having a unified force. Most of these were for some militia I was working on a few months back.
Enough of my ramblings, what are you working on? Show me some cool stuff so maybe I'll finish a model this quarter! ... See MoreSee Less

WIP Wednesday - It's National Cat Day Edition.
Happy National Cat Day everyone! I'm super allergic to cats, so I'm not participating but Facebook wanted to remind me of this so I'm reminding y'all. In honor of my cat-loving buddy, here are some of his Bolt Action Brits he's painting up as the Fusiliers since we went to their museum last October in London. He thought they were cool and here we are. What are you working on this week? I painted some ships for a space game I will someday design. I also spent Saturday painting terrain for Open Gaming, will you play with one of my phonebooths or port-a-potties?!? On Sunday I picked up something new, so maybe you'll see some of this next week. Anyways, are you pacing to complete your AdeptiCon projects? ... See MoreSee Less

The Golden Demon Returns to AdeptiCon 2026
While we strongly encourage everyone to check out Albert's... "stunning" isn't even the right word... otherworldly piece*, we would also like to point out this bit:
"We can also now announce that Golden Demon will return in 2026, kicking off with the US leg at AdeptiCon at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, WI, from March 25th to 29th. We’ll be releasing the full event pack with all the details in a few weeks."
Now that it's official, you better use some of that Halloween sugar to jump start your entries. Good luck and get painting!

* editor's note. Other terms for Albert's Slayer Sword winner include bananas, fire, breathtaking, lit, "hits different', and rez. I officially retire from competition painting. ... See MoreSee Less

WIP Wednesday - Maybe I should finish a model some week.
Happy Wednesday ya’all! I was not productive at all in the past week. I’ve been steadily painting an Imperial Fist command squad for heresy. Last week I painted the crests, maybe this week I’ll do some cabling. By 2035 they should be done! The squad will roll with Fafnjr Rann as his entourage. I did build a Wirblewind for Bolt Action for a game last Saturday. It promptly died after failing to knock out some half-tracks.
What are you guys working on this week? ... See MoreSee Less

Event Spotlight: 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Team Yankee Tanksgiving Megabattle
Last year, the peace-loving people of the Soviet Union 'rescued' Santa from western imperialism and are now housing him in a re-education work camp. NATO forces are gathering to rescue him and save Christmas.
This is the 2nd Toys for Tots Tanksgiving event we'll be running at the Toledo Game Room. We'll have forces for people to use and no experience is required, show up and have fun! If you want to bring your own stuff, bring a 100-point Team Yankee force with no infantry, artillery, and only one aircraft or helicopter. Siberia is a place for armored vehicles!
We will bring stuff in and have other thematic events to keep the fun going during the game.
Admission is at least one toy worth at least $15. Battlefront is going to do a random draw for prizes, so I'll be submitting names and emails after the event. ... See MoreSee Less

WIP Wednesday!
What are you guys working on this week?
I decided that my Kratos should be Ultramarine to go with the rest of my heresy armor instead of Imperial Fist, so I started repainting that. I have a dream of writing my own mass space fleet combat game. To that end, I've been painting ships from the anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which I heartily recommend if you want epic space battles set to classical music and deep political discussions in your anime. I've also been working on the new Captain Lysander model, which is amazing. I finally got around to painting my old metal one after 20 years, will I beat that time on painting the new one? Find out in a future installment of WIP Wednesday! ... See MoreSee Less

We thought this was worth passing along. Congrats to Team Tablewar Hawaii and everyone who made it out to Utah for the Challengers Cup. It looked like an amazing event. From the Cup organizers:
"Aloha in Utah: Tablewar Hawaii exemplifies true team spirit.
Green Banner Event Co. and the Challengers Cup want to take some time to recognize Team Tablewar Hawaii for the incredible sportsmanship and positivity they brought to the event. From start to finish, they embodied what this community is all about — friendship, respect, and lifting each other up.
Their attitude and team spirit stood out to everyone around them, setting a standard we can all look to achieve. In recognition of this, Team Tablewar Hawaii will receive tickets to AdeptiCon, where we know they’ll continue to spread the same energy and love for the game that made them such a bright part of the Challengers Cup." ... WIP Wednesday - 167 Days to AdeptiCon
What's going on this week? I've been working on an Imperial Fist command squad to run with Fafnir Rann. Is it good? I have no idea, but he was awesome in the books and the model is great. I also printed off some Helldivers, which I think could be a fun event game. My buddies are working on some Space Wolves and some Epic American Revolution. What are you working on this week? ... WIP Wednesday Returns
It's October, the spooky season is here, and it's time for WIP Wednesday to return. So what are you working on for AdeptiCon? I've been working on a lot of things related to the Horus Heresy, though that's not for the con. I finally painted a Captain Lysander model I got way back when I started playing 40k around 2006. I really need to get going on some Revolutionary War British for my event game, got to get caught up with my friends who are getting close to finishing the Americans. ... See MoreSee Less
