HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

We here at AdeptiCon are very excited to see the 2022 convention return to an in-person event. The only thing more important to us than once again seeing each other is that we do so in the safest way possible. We, as a major convention, have certain obligations and responsibilities and we take these very seriously. Our various planning and logistical teams continue to review our health and safety rules and guidelines and we are committed to communicating these to you, the attendee, and to, likewise, ensure that these 2022 policies are effectively upheld.

While we will be making the standards expected for attending AdeptiCon 2022 as clear as possible, be aware that we may be required to make updates and adjustments over the coming months, potentially up to the date of the convention. We will be closely monitoring local, state, and national CDC guidelines and we will notify you of any changes as soon as we possibly can.

AdeptiCon 2022 Health and Safety Policy and Protocols
The health and safety of every attendee, volunteer, exhibitor, and staff member remains our top priority. For the 2022 convention, we are implementing a series of new guidelines, protocols, and policies based on current local, state, and Center for Disease Control guidelines, as well as those issued by the Schaumburg Convention Center and the Marriott Renaissance. These are being put in place to ensure a safe and comfortable experience and we expect every attendee, including exhibitors, guests, staff, instructors, and volunteers to comply fully with these protocols. The policies outlined here are subject to change, so please monitor this space for additional guidance. Current requirements include:

Current Policy
Cook County authorities have issued Public Health COVID-19 Mitigation Mandate 2021-11, effective January 3rd. Additional information can be found on Cook County Department of Public Health Mitigation Guidance page (including an FAQ). In short, this mandate requires proof of vaccination for indoor settings where food and drink are served for on-premise consumption. After consultation with both Cook County and our venue partners, it is confirmed that, as long as this mandate continues to be in effect at the date of the convention, it applies directly to the AdeptiCon event and supersedes our full vaccination or negative testing policy.

A mobile testing facility will be available at the Schaumburg Convention Center for attendees.

Face Coverings
Per the Cook County 2021-11 Mandate: “Any individual aged two and older and able to medically tolerate a mask shall be required to wear a mask when indoors in a public place, regardless of vaccination status.

Attendees should wear masks that fit tightly around their face and cover the mouth and nose. Cloth masks should have two layers. Medical masks, N-95 respirators, masks with inner filter pockets, and clear masks are also acceptable. Balaclavas, bandanas, face covers with exhaust valves or vents, masks made with mesh or lace type fabric, gaiters, scarves, and ski masks are prohibited.

Increased Sanitation and Hygiene
AdeptiCon is working closely with the Schaumburg Convention Center and Marriott to increase overall sanitation and we plan on supplementing policies based on CDC, governmental and industry best practices. It is the responsibility of every individual to maintain good personal hygiene, including frequent hand washing.

Follow the Code of Conduct
Please be aware of and respect the personal boundaries of your fellow attendees so that everyone can enjoy their time at AdeptiCon. All attendees are expected to abide by the AdeptiCon Conduct Policy.
