Registration Now Open (Registration FAQ)

After a long and arduous road, AdeptiCon 2022 registration opens this evening at 7PM CDT. If you have questions about the registration process, please watch the Registration Walkthrough video. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Health & Safety Guidelines
    • Please see the recently released Health & Safety Guidelines and the Health & Safety FAQ.
    • In accordance with Cook County Public Health COVID-19 Mitigation Mandate 2021-11, and local public health guidance, everyone will need to provide proof of full vaccination, with vaccines approved or authorized by the FDA or WHO, to be admitted into AdeptiCon.
    • Please also note, that this mandate requires “Any individual aged two and older and able to medically tolerate a mask shall be required to wear a mask when indoors in a public place, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Cart Credit From 2020
    • If you filled out the form, and you chose Cart Credit or Cart Credit + Merchandise, you should see those Payment Credits on  the Order Summary page (minus any merchandise and shipping fees). The system will automatically apply those credits towards all future purchases in 2022 and 2023 until that credit is gone.
    • IMPORTANT: If you have any questions regarding your credit, DO NOT delay registering for AdeptiCon 2022! Finish your registration and then email info@adepticon.org with any questions. We will get you sorted out. Based on the number of requests, it may take us 2-3 days to respond.
    • For those you that received swag bags or merchandise shipped to you, please remember that the cost of the merchandise plus a shipping fee was deducted from your credit amount.
      • Example: John AdeptiCon spent $200 on a Premium Badge Upgrade, events, and merchandise (hoodie and a set of dice) in 2020. When the event was canceled, he filled out the form requesting that his merchandise and swag bag be shipped to him and the remaining balance converted to cart credit for the following year. The Premium Badge Upgrade was $75, the hoodie was $45, and dice were $10 for a total of $130 in merchandise. The flat shipping cost for a Premium Badge Upgrade, as described in the original survey, was $35. This means that John’s Credit would be $200 – $165 (merchandise and shipping), leaving him $35 in credit to spend on the following year.
  • Ancient Order of AdeptiCon
    • Several outstanding attendees went well above the call of duty after the cancellation of the 2020 event and donated their events fees to help the convention weather the storm. We are happy to say that your support did exactly that!
    • Anyone that donated, should see an Ancient Order of AdeptiCon designation on their registration confirmation page after checking out (just above your name). This confirms your membership in the shadowy cabal!
    • Members of the Ancient Order will be receiving a number of gratitude perks and gifts from the convention, including a special badge, a unique AOoA pin badge, and the Vaunted Archivist model.
  • Refunds
    • Per the Refund Policy, there will be NO REFUNDS in the webcart or onsite after Feburary 28th, 2022. Tickets purchased after February 28th, 2022 are NON-REFUNDABLE.
    • The ONLY exceptions to this policy are as follows:
      • If the convention is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be automatically refunded the full amount of your initial purchase to the payment method on file. Refunds may take up to 90 days to process and are subject to a 10% processing fee.
      • If travel has been restricted to or from your point of origin.
      • If a specific event is canceled after the February, 28th refund deadline by the convention or the organizer/instructor.
      • With AdeptiCon’s discretion, any refunds issued may be subject to a 10% processing fee.

  • Do I need an AdeptiCon Badge just to observe?
    • In a normal year, the answer to this would be no, but given the current state of things, all attendees will be required to have a badge for AdeptiCon 2022 and pass the Health & Safety check. We will have “Shopper Badges” on site for a minimal fee ($5-$10, still being determined).
  • Event Rules & Resources
    • We are still gathering rules for several events, but you can find what has already been posted here. Keep checking back over the next few weeks!
  • Waitlists
    • If an event sells out, add yourself to the waitlist. Waitlists will offer tickets to the next available attendee as they become available. If you receive a notification that a waitlist ticket has become available, you will have 5 days to secure that ticket before it is passed on to the next attendee on the list.
  • Refund Failures on Opening Night
    • You cannot request a refund on tickets within 24 hours of purchase. The original transaction MUST resolve before a refund can be properly processed. If you receive a ‘Refund Failure for AdeptiCon 2022’ email, don’t worry, we are fully aware of the request. We process failed refunds and payments every other day. Your refund will be resolved at that time.
